Keeping the Peace.

When we walk around our daily lives, what we see alot are conflicts. Whether its to decide not to do homework to figuring out how to avoid that one person in class who annoys you the most, it is a conflict. But do these conflicts really matter in the grander scheme of things. Like how do we keep the atom bombs at bay. It may be that the U.S. is one of the biggest world leaders or that our President has great social skills. Yet the peace is kept. Sure were involved in struggles over in the middle east. 10 years in Iraq and Afghanistan is just one example. So many men and woman have died just to keep the peace. But then with actual casualties has there really been any peace. Have the enemies really been kept at bay. How long will peace last. Or is there really just a rocky relationship with our so called allies. With the recent uprisings of Egypt and Libya the keeping of peace will eventually be forgotten.

  1. You are right. There so many people are daily fighting over the county and dying just to maintain peace. I just think it's ironic how the way in which our government thinks for us to gain "peace" is for us to bomb the heck out of the other country.

  2. The army tries to make a better world for the citizens every time they go out for war. It is sad to see that most of them don't make it back to their family, but what is worse is that the situation might not have changed that much. It is really sad to see that presidents over the years have just taken soldiers for granted most of the time. Although soldiers train to be role models and serve their country they dont deserve all the emotional pain they go through in the war.. but i guess this will still happen in the next years ...:(
